About me
Dr. Pruitt graduated from UGA College of Pharmacy in 2007 and went on to pursue PGY1 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency training with the Atlanta VA Medical Center from 2007-2008. After completing residency, she stayed on with the Atlanta VAMC and worked in both the Anticoagulation Clinic and then later as a Primary Care (PACT) Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the Stockbridge, GA VA Outpatient Clinic from 2008-2019. In 2019 Dr. Pruitt accepted a new position in Academic Detailing with the Veterans' Integrated Southeast Network-7 (VISN7) and Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, GA, where she currently practices. Academic Detailing Clinical Pharmacy's mission is to eliminate the gap between clinical care and evidenced-based care for Veterans. In this role, her team develops innovative strategies to promote evidence-based practices, builds relationships with healthcare teams, and resolves barriers to improve Veterans' care through academic detailing. Some of the most recent academic detailing campaigns Dr. Pruitt has participated in include: Opioid Safety/Opioid Stewardship, Suicide Prevention, Overdose Education and Naloxone Distribution, Diabetes, Treatment Resistant Depression, COPD, Heart Failure, and Psychotropic Drug Safety Initiatives. Dr. Pruitt also actively serves as a preceptor for PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residents, as well as P3 and P4 Pharmacy students.
